Samarium–cobalt magnet is a Rare-earth magnet, which is made of samarium, cobalt and other metal rare earth materials through matching. It was successfully developed in 1970. The Samarium–cobalt magnet is the second strongest magnet nowadays, with high maximum magnetic energy product (BHmax), high coercivity, friability and cracking. The maximum magnetic energy product of Samarium–cobalt magnet ranges from 9 MGOe to 31 MGOe. The Samarium–cobalt magnet has two composition ratios, namely (samarium atom: cobalt atom) 1:5 and 2:17. For example, the maximum magnetic energy product of 2:17 alloy is 26 MGOe, the coercivity is 9750 oersted, the Curie temperature is 825 ° C, and the maximum operating temperature is 350 ° C.
Attribute characteristics:

3. The price is expensive and susceptible to price fluctuations (cobalt market price sensitivity).
Main hazards:
1. The Samarium–cobalt magnet is easy to peel. When handling them, goggles must be worn.
2. Collision of magnets together may cause the magnets to shatter, which may lead to potential hazards.
3. Samarium cobalt manufacturing is made by a process called sintering, which involves sintering all materials, and internal cracks are highly likely to occur. Magnets do not have mechanical integrity and only have the function of preparing magnetic fields. Therefore, it is necessary to design special mechanical systems to give the overall system sufficient mechanical reliability.
